FAQs

How much notice do I need to provide for a worker?

Our branches commonly accept short notice orders and can generally provide a suitably skilled worker to meet your requirements within one hour and often less.

If I have an account with your Wellington office, can I use workers in other parts of the country?

Yes you can. All you will need to do is tell us which branch your account is held at.

What happens if I want to employ your casual worker directly?

This option is available following an agreed period as specified in our Terms of Business.

Who supplies the worker's PPE?

AWF will supply basic PPE including hard hats, gloves, HiViz and safety glasses.

Do I have to pick the worker up from your office?

No. Some branches employ workers who are required to have their own transport to and from the job. Other branches will deliver using our fleet of vans and buses.

What Crew screening do you do?

All our crew are security checked. They are also required to sign a consent form permitting us to carry out drug screening. One on one interviews are carried out prior to a worker being assigned to a job. For semi to higher skilled roles, reference checks are done. AWF also has the facility to complete psychometric testing for specific roles.

How do we order crew?

Just call one of our offices. This is free from your cell phone or landline by dialling 0800LABOUR or 0800522687 and talk to one of our friendly staff.

Can we interview crew before they are sent to my site?

You are welcome to be involved in the interview process.

What is the cost for a worker and will I get a discount if I employ more than one?

The cost is discussed at the time of order and will reflect the job being carried out and the experience and skills required of the worker. Our prices are competitive when you consider that they include all on-costs. We generally do not discount our service as margins are already very competitive. However, for large customers that are regular employers of our crew, we will look at rebate options or reduced rates.

What happens if the worker has an accident?

Call 0800LABOUR or your nearest branch, we will collect the worker and our H&S processes will follow through with the appropriate action. You will however, be required to file an accident report.

Who pays ACC?

Allied Work Force pays the worker's ACC costs.

Does Allied Work Force have staff available 7 days a week 24 hours a day?

Yes, but for work outside normal business hours more planning is required so we would appreciate as much notice as possible.

Do I have to pay overtime?

Only on public holidays as noted by Employment Law, otherwise all hours are charged at standard rates.

Do I need a Health & Safety Policy and Procedure to hire workers from Allied Work Force?

Our operations staff will ask questions to reflect your knowledge of H&S requirements. If the information you provide is not satisfactory, we may decline to supply workers. The Health & Safety in Employment Act 1992 states that all practical steps must be taken to ensure that employees are not harmed. We strongly recommend that if you are unsure as to what your obligations are, that you contact the Department of Labour and request the pack "Learn the Basic Steps to make your workplace safer".
